We are looking for you for an apprenticeship as a technical product designer (m/f/d) at our headquarters in Augsburg from 01.09.2025.

Who actually makes sure that technical products both function well and look great? That's right, you, as a technical product designer (m/f/d)! You have a good spatial imagination and the design and documentation of machines and systems sounds exciting to you? Then start your future now with your application with us!

Before you tell us who you are with your application, let's tell you a little bit about us. Hosokawa Alpine is an internationally active special machine construction company. In our two business areas, mechanical process engineering and film extrusion, we are on a par with other world-class companies. With over 125 years of know-how and excellent expertise, we know how to develop the most efficient and best solutions. With our approximately 840 employees, we rely on resource-saving and sustainable technologies made in Germany and ensure the highest customer satisfaction. Global presence and successful growth combined with a forward-looking mindset, flat hierarchies, short decision-making paths, long-term partnerships and varied tasks in special mechanical engineering - that is Hosokawa Alpine.

What can you expect during your apprenticeship?

  • You learn how to make and read technical drawings and two- and three-dimensional representations.
  • Our machines and systems stand for the highest quality. To ensure that this remains the case, we are constantly improving our systems and developing new parts. You help us with this and are thus an important member of our team.
  • Working with 2D and 3D software is an important part of the job description - we'll show you how it's done!
  • Our dedicated trainers will help you with all questions and challenges.
  • Parallel to your training in the company, you will attend vocational school.
  • Your tasks will include, for example:
o   Handling technical documents such as technical drawings
o   Designing components using various software applications.
o   Learning basic metalworking skills and assisting in the development of systems and machines.

The apprenticeship usually lasts 3.5 years. With good performance there is the possibility to shorten the training.

What you should bring:

  • You have at least an intermediate school leaving certificate with good grades in mathematics, German and English.
  • You have a responsible, organized and careful way of working.
  • Since we work in an international environment, you should also be prepared to communicate occasionally in English with our customers.
  • You have experience in using a PC and office applications such as Word and Excel.
  • You like to work in a team.

What we offer you:

  • We offer you optimal apprenticeship conditions in our international mechanical engineering company and with our dedicated and qualified trainers.
  • Your training is important, but so is your free time. We have a 35-hour week, so there is enough time for your private life.
  • We are in the metal and electrical collective agreement and offer our trainees an attractive remuneration package.
  • We support you in your exam preparation.
  • Our working atmosphere is impressive, people help each other where they can.
  • A large team of trainees and dual students makes it easier for you to get started and creates plenty of opportunities for exchange.
  • Our on-site cafeteria serves seasonal and fresh meals.

And after the apprenticeship?

Our trainees are taken on for at least one year after completing their training. In most cases, however, our trainees stay with us much longer and we are happy to accompany them through their career.
But the end of the apprenticeship is by no means the end of the line - further training is important to us, which is why we have created the Alpine Campus. There you will find qualification measures tailored to your current career level, so that you can always stay up to date.
